Artist Statement
Mostly, I’m a writer. But after I finished my first novel I was still thinking about the beauty of elephants and giraffes, and the droughts and political issues that drove the destruction of elephants in Africa. I was depressed about it, and I wanted the elephants to have a happy place to live, so that is how I began. I started drawing elephants in colorful, happy places, safe from poachers.
It grew from there. I donate a portion of my sales to causes that help animals.
