Artist Statement
My first novel, Desire, involved research into elephants and the political issues that threatened their habitat and destruction in Africa. I felt depressed about the situation, and I wanted the elephants to have a happy place to live, so that is how I began making art: I started drawing elephants in colorful, happy places, safe from poachers. My work grew from there. I often use mixed media and collage.
I donate a portion of my sales to causes that help animals.
