Elephant Dreamsong Series

I lived in Africa briefly as a child and saw mostly camels. But elephants captured my imagination when I began writing about Africa, and after a few years of research on elephants I was enraptured. Elephant populations have been dwindling since the 1890’s when they were killed for ivory, mostly for piano keys. Hunting elephants has escalated every year since, and despite the best efforts of so many conscientious people, the future for elephants is dire. I was depressed for a long time about our seeming inability to turn this around. These images of elephants are an attempt to provide a space to celebrate the wonder and radical intelligence (even prescience) that elephants so often exhibit. I donate a percentage of all sales to animal and environmental organizations.
